Gateway cows come home

Conscientious Australian parents have convinced Gateway to recall its famous promotional rubber stress cows that were sold and given away in Gateway showrooms and at trade shows. The fear is that they could be a choking hazard to children, especially if they bite or tear-off cow chunks.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
