Wireless Internet surfing has reached the Psion handheld market with the launch Tuesday of an updated Revo PDA with WAP capability. But for those wondering if the device will double up as a phone... it does not come with a modem.

Users will need to either buy a Psion 56K travel modem or link to an infrared mobile phone to access the Internet. Once connected the Revo uses Psion's WAP browser to read Web pages. Opera's Secure Web Browser provides 128-bit SSL encryption.

Measuring 157x79x18mm, it has a 480x160 pixel mono screen and a small Qwerty keyboard. It contains 16Mb or RAM -- twice as much as the original Psion Revo -- and can save stories in its memory cache for off-line viewing.

The Revo Plus will be available from September in the UK, and will cost between £250 and £300.

I wonder, who needs .asia domain? I cannot imagine, what would be useful for Microsoft.asia? Toyota.asia? Then let's register .europe (if .eu is too short). Or perhaps Microsoft.southamerica, Dell.australiaandnewzealand, Coca-Cola.africa... Sound funny? Then why not just use the global and country domains? Or perhaps it is time to drop the domains at all?
