The next major version of the open source browser Firefox will be released on Tuesday, according to the Mozilla Corporation.

Mozilla said on Monday Firefox 1.5 would be available from getfirefox.com and Mozilla.com sometime after 1200 Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday.

Mozilla is also expected to launch a large-scale marketing drive on Tuesday, including a campaign where Firefox fans can tell the world about their favourite browser by publishing home-made videos on a Mozilla Web site.

Firefox 1.5 includes a number of improvements, including "significant" performance and usability upgrades, Mozilla said in a statement

More information on the features in Firefox 1.5 can be found here.
