Fabrice Di Meglio, a French senior engineer working at VideoEgg
"Looking at the JavaOne keynote, I was happy to see the announcement of the Java Store, Java 7 and JavaFX for television and its authoring tool. But the CommunityOne keynote on the other hand was just very poor and uninteresting, compared with Google's recent I/O event, where the average age of the speakers was probably around 10 years younger. Where were James Goslin, Richard Green or John Cage, like in previous years?

"There has been almost no mention of the recent acquisition by Oracle. At least we should have been able to hear something to quell our concerns over the future of Java, MySQL, Glassfish and all the other major assets Sun is giving as wedding gifts.

"I went to the Android track, and it was good. Although the presenter did say that there would be no other Android presentations at JavaOne, even though they had proposed several to the organisers. I was speechless about this, as Android is the only viable usage of Java on a phone, in my opinion."
