XenSource, a start-up commercialising the open source Xen virtualisation software, said on Thursday that it has hired Gordon Mangione as senior vice president of product operations.

Most recently, Mangione was at Seattle-based venture capital firm Ignition Partners, but before that he led Microsoft's Security Business and Technology Unit, where he oversaw security products.

He also led the SQL Server and Exchange teams.
