Business Intelligence provider Information Builders has had its software certified to run on another Linux platform.

The company said on Tuesday that its WebFOCUS product has received certification for Novell's SuSE Linux Enterprise Server. The company claims that its Business Intelligence (BI) tools are certified to run on more Linux platforms than any other BI vendor. Its products run on multiple versions of SuSE and Red Hat Linux.

The market for BI on Linux is still relatively immature, with companies such as Cognos and Business Objects only recently making their applications available on the open source OS.

Business Objects made its Crystal Enterprise 10 application available on Linux in June last year, while Cognos made its ReportNet application available on Linux in November. Both vendors have only made their applications available on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
