UK technology news site silicon.com has been taken offline, by burglars.

Vital computing equipment was stolen by thieves during a break-in at the dot-com's Chelsea headquarters Saturday lunchtime. As a result, silicon.com, silicon.fr and atscojobs.com have all been forced offline.

A spokesman for silicon confirmed Tuesday that the sites have been down since the attack. "We're hoping to get them back up this [Tuesday] lunchtime". He thought it unlikely that silicon would have lost any data in the attack.

Silicon will be meeting with its insurers this afternoon.
