It is now possible to run a heavy-duty search engine from the comfort of your home PC thanks to company that is releasing the source code for a ultra-compact Linux application called Juggernaut.

The creators of Juggernaut claim that it is capable of serving up a staggering 10 million unique Web pages running on just a Pentium II machine and Slackware Linux 4.0.

To experience this staggering feat first-hand and download the free source code and set up your own Altavista, visit the Juggernaut development team homepage here.

Take me to the Linux Lounge.
