News Burst: Hitachi-BeOS PCs for Christmas... in Japan

Be Inc's operating system will be included in some Hitachi PCs it has been announced this week. The operating system was originally designed to run on Macs, but Be is keen to target multimedia applications in the mainstream Intel PC marketplace. The Silicon Valley-based company, founded in 1990, has benefitted from an equity investment by Intel earlier this year. Hitachi's first round of BeOS-loaded desktop machines, models of the FLORA Prius 330J range, will be released on December 5 for the Japanese market.
