Tadpole gets into water, buys into Java

The company said it had agreed to buy Bristol-based Java software applications firm Systems Synthesis Limited (SSL) for about £200,000 and had won a contract to supply mobile Java solutions to UK utility Bristol Water Plc.

SSL makes the Cartesia line of Java-based enterprise GIS software called Cartesia.

Under terms of the Bristol Water contract, Tadpole will supply Java and CORBA software solutions based on thin clients.
