The upgrade is available free of charge for modems that currently use 3Com's proprietary x2 technology, including native x2 modems and 33.6K units that have been upgraded to x2.

Users of 33.6K modems or lower can upgrade to the standard for $60. Once upgraded, the modems will be backward-compatible to ISPs that haven't yet upgraded from x2 to V.90.

Upgrades can be obtained here.
