A Year Ago Today: CA buys Cheyenne Software

Computer Associates (CA) is to buy anti-virus, communications and storage management software vendor Cheyenne Software for $1.2 billion. The acquisition is the latest in a long list of purchases for the voracious US firm.

Analysts said Cheyenne's attraction lay in its strong Windows NT product line.

UK spokesmen were unavailable for comment.
