Symantec slapped a patent infringement suit on McAfee as bad blood between leading vendors surfaced once again. The suit alleges that McAfee's PC Medic data rescue software contains identical code to Symantec's CrashGuard which is aimed at the same audience. Symantec is seeking a recall of the product and damages.

McAfee UK managing director Jeff Barnes said PC Medic is about to ship in the UK based on schedules in place before the Symantec lawsuit.
