Quarterdeck back in profit

Pundits who had written off Quarterdeck after three consecutive losses may have spoken too soon as the utilities maker posted a $20,000 profit of $24.4 million revenues for its October-December quarter yesterday.

Although those figures were sharply down on the $2.8 million the Californian firm made for the equivalent quarter a year earlier on far higher revenues, it looked a lot better than the $54.8 million loss made in its July-September fourth quarter.
