Agency Johnson King won the Technology PR Campaign of the Year at the 2008 CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards for its work for Sophos to raise awareness about the security dangers of social networking.
The campaign was called The Facebook Probe — who's controlling the corporate network? and was designed to educate users about potential perils online.
The judges were impressed by the way the campaign highlighted the risks to businesses of unrestricted use of social networking.
The campaign used an innovative hook — a Facebook profile for a frog — and achieved extensive coverage in the press.
