Microsoft names new UK boss

Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it has appointed a new head of its UK subsidiary.
Alistair Baker takes over the job of managing director with immediate effect. For the last eight years he has been employed as Microsoft UK's general manager for small and mid-market solutions and partners.
"This is a pivotal time for Microsoft," said Baker in a statement. "Through our leading software and services, I believe the company is well-placed to drive even greater levels of value for our customers and partners at an individual, organisational and national level, making them more competitive and better able to achieve their potential."
As reported last week, Neil Holloway, the previous Microsoft UK managing director, has moved to the position of corporate vice president and vice president of sales, marketing and services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
