Yahoo! trims sales staff

Yahoo! has confirmed that it laid off about 5 percent of its sales force as part of an effort to streamline that unit's functions. The layoffs totalled fewer than 15 employees from Yahoo's sales offices across the United States.
A Yahoo! representative declined to say whether the company would make further cuts or any operational shifts in the near future. Tim Brady, the chief product officer and Yahoo!'s third employee, resigned last month. Yahoo! said senior vice president Geoff Ralston would assume Brady's responsibilities and would reorganise the sales group through some "minor operational shifts." The sales cuts were unrelated to the reorganisation, the representative said.
