Graham Cluley, senior technical consultant at the UK anti-virus house, said that macro viruses are still growing at a rate of about five per day: "The anti-virus business just goes on and on. There are about five new macro viruses a day, although many of them are mutations of existing viruses. There must be close to 100 variations each of Wazzu and Concept alone. The graph is getting sharper."

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
