Jobseekers should get busy sending out their CVs, as UK job vacancies are rising at their fastest rate for 12 months.

Opportunities for permanent staff rose across a number of sectors, including: engineering, science, and secretarial. Opportunities for IT jobseekers also rose, signalling the first surge in demand in the sector for a year.

The findings, from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation's Report on Jobs also revealed increased opportunities for temporary/contract staff. According to the report, "(Recruitment) agencies reported increased demand for all types of temporary employee." The rise for temporary executive and professional staff rose for only the second time since last October.
