Forbes Global CEO forum to proceed

Despite Tuesday's catastrophe in the US, business leaders will still be attending the Forbes Global CEO Conference in Singapore next week. However, the Gilder/Forbes Telecosm Conference, due to start on Wednesday, has been postponed.
The event will see more than 300 global business leaders gathered here. Out of the expected 29 heads of companies, 14 are from the US.
Among the speakers are Computer Associates chairman Charles Wang, Sybase chairman John Chen, Cisco Systems Asia Pacific president Gordon Astles, Garage Technology Ventures chief executive Guy Kawasaki, UMC Group chairman Robert Tsao and Infineon Technologies president and chief executive Ulrich Schumacher.
"Our intention at this moment is to go ahead with the conference, assuming international flights in and out of the US resume within the next few days," said Forbes Asia vice president and managing director William Adamopoulos.
The US Federal Aviation Administration has grounded all flights in the US indefinitely due to security concerns following the terrorist attacks on Tuesday. No flights are allowed to come into the country either.
"We are in constant contact with Forbes New York and are monitoring the situation closely," Adamopoulos added.
Singapore's Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew will deliver a keynote speech. Other government officials who will attend include Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Communications and IT Minister Yeo Cheow Tong.
