LPG Innovations released its successor to WAPoffice on Tuesday, dubbed Mobile Communications Center, with new features such as mobile faxing.

The software lets mobile phone users access corporate email, calendars, directories and other information off the company LAN. The new version adds faxing, a personalised list of links, SMS and email attachments.

It is available from the Finnish company in eight languages. LPG is marketing the Mobile Communications Center to operators who want to offer Application Service Provider (ASP) services.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
