News Burst: Hitachi, Parthus team on Bluetooth

Hitachi and Parthus Technologies are to work together on new Bluetooth products, allying the Dublin-based mobile Internet company with one of the world's leading electronics companies.
As part of the deal, Hitachi said it will license key elements of Parthus' BlueStream Bluetooth platform. Industry analysts estimate almost 1.4 billion Bluetooth devices will be in use by 2005, but early examples of the wireless networking technology have been a disappointment, often lacking full interoperability and suffering from other glitches.
