Virtual privacy centre started in Germany

In comparison to Britain and the US, Germany has very strict rules about privacy. For example, emails are safe, even at work. Each federal state has to name a commissioner for data protection, who has to watch the activities of governments and companies.

Now the German commissioners, headed by the National Centre for Data Security in Schleswig Holstein, have started a virtual privacy centre, where people get information about their rights.

The site contains data security tools for free download, lots of informations and hints for a "safer surf". The aim is to connect data protection activities all over the world. See the English version of the site.
