News Burst: Freeserve to get boot from FTSE 100

Freeserve, a bellwether of the UK's Internet industry since its flotation in March 1999, is likely to be ejected from the FTSE 100 next week, when the index goes through its quarterly review.

The move is seen as a sign of the times by industry observers, underscoring the fall from grace of former high-flyers such as boo.com, Freeserve, QXL and lastminute.com.
