Anonymous user sues Yahoo! over anonymity

Companies have subpoenaed message board sites like Yahoo! in attempts to find out the identities of users who post false or misleading information or information critical of their firms.

The suit against Yahoo! claims that the company has divulged this information without notifying the user.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
