Supermarket chain Waitrose is planning to expand its online offering the company announced Tuesday.

The company intends to offer groceries, flowers and wine online and will launch a shopping channel selling CDs, books and videos next year. Most of the major supermarkets now have some form of online presence, although none have yet launched nationwide Net shopping.

A spokeswoman for Waitrose admitted the store is taking e-commerce seriously but said there were no plans for a full grocery delivery service.
