E*Trade Group will become a sponsor of Microsoft's Money 2000 financial software. Headlines and financial links from E*Trade will be featured on the investing, tax and business centers of the software program. E*Trade will also be promoted on the software packaging and an account application will be included in the box.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
