The UK's essential services will run as normal come the millennium according to government bug-watchers Action 2000.

Doom-mongers predicting national chaos as a result of the millennium bug may be in for a disappointing New Year as Action 2000 predicts business as usual over the millennium period. Representatives from the grocery industry, financial services and NHS reassured the public that food, money and healthcare would not be affected by the millennium bug as the latest results from Action 2000's Infrastructure Forum are published.
