AMD looks to shed Communications Group

Advanced Micro Devices said late Wednesday it intends to sell its Communications Group.
The chip maker, which made the announcement following the announcement of a $105.5 million third quarter loss, has engaged Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette and Salomon Smith Barney to find a buyer.
