News Burst: Ginger Online launches GIMP

Called the er... GIMP (Ginger Interactive Media Player), it is a pop up window that sits on the desktop and connects in real time to Virgin radio's Internet broadcast.

In addition to the live feed, GIMP shows advertiser and station information, and on-demand access to news, weather and entertainment news.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
