The long awaited E-commerce Czar will work closely with new e-minister Patricia Hewitt on promoting UK tech interests here and abroad.
Former civil servant Allen, 48, includes launching the Number 10 Web site among his IT credentials and lists the music of the Grateful Dead among his hobbies.
