News Burst: All powerful search engine launches

Creators of Alltheweb say that within a year the engine will contain more than one billion pages of content, encompassing the entire web.

Fast Search also claims the new engine is faster than anything else, capable of searching 200 million documents within a second as well as building a document database in just 12 hours. Existing engines take days or even week to update their databases.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
