Nuggets: PhotoFrame 2.0, groovy new add-on for Photoshop

Photoshop users are always looking for new tools to get their creative juices flowing. Extensis' PhotoFrame 2.0 is a set of such tools, providing thousands of image frame and border effects. As well as the 1000 plus frames included, PhotoFrame lets you build your own, either from the bottom up or by adapting existing frames.

There's also a Web site, custom build for version 2.0, which you can access from within PhotoFrame to give you the option of downloading from a constantly updated library of different frame files. There's a range of effects to enhance frame images, including drop shadows, glows, bevels, textures and blend modes.

PhotoFrame's interface includes dockable palettes to give easy access to all the controls, and settings combinations can be saved for access from the Photoshop menu bar -- letting you apply a frame without launching the filter. You can also preview frames in Extensis' Portfolio browser and then drag and drop them for editing. Available this Friday for £164.95.
