News Burst: Porn ruling sets UK precedent

Businessman Graham Waddon appeared at Southwark Crown Court this week charged with running the U.K.'s largest porn operation. Waddon set up a series of hard pornography sites in the U.S. and charged UK customers £25 a month for access.

Judge Christopher Hardy rejected defence claims that the material fell outside British jurisdiction -- servers were based in America -- because the files were uploaded in the UK.

The case continues tomorrow.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
