BT is dropping the installation costs of Home Highway, Business Highway and ISDN services from April 1st, according to documents filed with Oftel. For connections ordered between 1st April and 30th June 1999, the price will be dropped by £50.

This makes the official connection cost of the services £199 ex VAT, or £99 to convert from an existing analogue line, from the current prices of £249 or £149.

BT declined to comment "on services that haven't been officially announced".
