STB plans six of best for CeBIT

Texan graphics card maker STB Systems will bet on plenty of horses when it takes the covers off six new cards at the CeBIT '98 show next week. The firm is taking a mix 'n' match approach to graphics accelerators to serve every aspect of the market.
Top of the mainstream pile will be the Velocity 128 ZX, an AGP 2X board based on the new nVIDIA Riva 128 ZX chipset and offering support for up to 8Mb SGRAM.
Aimed at gamers are the Black Magic 3D Voodoo2, a PCI card with support for up to 12Mb EDO RAM, and the Lightspeed 740 based on Intel's i740 chipset.
For DVD multimedia work, STB has the Nitro DVD AGP or PCI card with Chromatic MPACT2 chipset and support for up to 8Mb Rambus DRAM.
For users who need more visual real-estate there is the MVP PRO-128 multiple-monitor card with support for two or four screens and also based on the new nVIDIA.
The top-end product is the Symmetric Glyder GMX 1000 and 2000 with support for 16Mb VRAM frame buffer memory and up to 44Mb DRAM local buffer memory.
Prices are to be announced.
