Membership of the HomeSTART service will be offered to buyers when they purchase a PC, for an extra £49 plus VAT. After delivery of the PC, a "trained engineer" will go to their house at a prearranged time, between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Saturday.

The engineer will unpack and set up the computer, demonstrate how to load software and give basic tuition in the use of Windows 95 and connecting to the Internet. Where a customer requests additional tuition, a further hour can be prearranged.

Mesh: 0181 452 1111.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
