MS, AOL resolve e-mail glitch

Microsoft said it had resolved a problem that had prevented around 235,000 MSN 2.5 members from sending e-mail to America Online subscribers. A Microsoft spokesman attributed the problem - which began late last month - to AOL, suggesting it may have been related to an incorrect DNS entry.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
