Netscape pulls Java logo from non-compliant 4.04

Netscape Communications Corp. has removed the "Java-compliant" logo from the latest version of its Communicator suite, version 4.04, because its Web browser has been found not to be fully compatible with Sun Microsystems Inc.'s Java technology. Sun recently sued Microsoft Corp. for using the logo while allegedly not being in compliance with its Java standards.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
