ACi ships P-233 notebook

The London-based direct seller will include the part in a £3,195 + VAT unit comprising 32Mb RAM, 512Kb cache RAM, 2.1Gb hard drive, 13.3-inch XGA TFT screen, 16-speed CD-ROM drive, wavetable sound and Duracell battery.

Separately, Twinhead has begun shipping its Slimline 9 166MHz Pentium MMX-based notebook with 32Mb RAM, 2.1Gb hard drive, 10-speed CD-ROM drive and 12.1-inch SVGA TFT screen for £2,895 + VAT. An XGA screen version costs £3,195.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
