Networks 97 dubbed NetPC versus NC show

With the NetPC camp out in full force including Intel, Microsoft, Compaq, Dell and now Viglen, the publicity rug is expected to pulled from under the NC vendors.

Netscape will attempt to shift the emphasis of the show towards intranets. The company is publicly showing Communicator 4.0 for the first time, as well as the SuiteSpot 3.0 server family.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
