PII beaten by 200MHz PowerMac in MacUser test

The Pentium II may be at the heart of today's most powerful IBM-compatible PCs but Apple still makes a faster computer. That's the verdict of MacUser magazine in the first bake-offs pitching Intel's finest against the Macintosh.
In tests conducted with Adobe Photoshop, MacUser found that even a 200MHz PowerPC 604e-based system beat a 266MHz Pentium II machine and "remains faster overall than a Wintel machine, even with MMX". Faster PowerPC 604e chips running at 225MHz, 233MHz and 250MHz would, of course, make the difference even starker, the magazine claims.
