MS DevDays kick off tomorrow

Over 45,000 attendees are expected at 95 sites in 45 countries to see Visual Studio 97, the latest collection of Microsoft languages including Visual Basic 5.0, Visual J++, Visual FoxPro and Visual InterDev 1.0. Visitors can also collect free software. Microsoft chairman and CEO Bill Gates will give a satellite address.

UK and Ireland dates are: Dublin, March 20; Edinburgh, March 24; London, March 25; and Birmingham, March 26.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
