MS to put all its tools in one basket

Visual Studio 97 will include Visual Basic, Visual C++, Visual J++, Visual FoxPro and Visual InterDev. Microsoft manager for the Internet platforms group Jeremy Gittens called the suite "Office for developers".

The product will be rolled out on March 19 at Developer Days, Microsoft's huge code-fest taking place in 45 countries (more details can be gained by telephoning 0990-228811).

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
