Photoshop 4.0 (retailing around £500) supports Windows 95, 3.1 and NT and Macintosh and Power Macintosh platforms. New features include support for Web file formats, a Navigator utility, Options Palette and deeper integration with Adobe's other products which include Illustrator and PageMaker.

The software will be available in 20 languages and the upgrade price from version 3.0 is £150 + VAT, although users who have bought a full version of 3.0 on or after 9 September can upgrade for free.

Adobe can be contacted by telephone on 0131-451 6888.
