Conferencing beta of Normandy from Microsoft

The software is aimed at Internet providers and Intranet developers and the Normandy Conference Server includes chat facilities and a facility for connecting users of chat applications including Internet telephony applications and online text-based chat.

The new beta supports Microsoft's ActiveX controls and the Internet Relay Chat protocol.

The beta is available for download at the Normandy website

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
