The BJC-240 (£200 + VAT) has a 100-sheet tray, two-button control and is aimed at home and small business users. To achieve a resolution of 360 x 360dpi, the device requires Canon's special 'High Resolution Paper' and a PhotoRealism cartridge (£30 + VAT for cartridge and 60 sheets). The quality of images that can be created is the highest yet on a desktop printer, said Canon. The printer can also be used for standard colour and monochrome printing which involves cheaper cartridges and normal paper. A fluorescent cartridge will be available soon, said Canon.

Canon can be contacted by telephone on 0121-680 8062.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
