Microsoft announces NT 4.0 UK pricing

Microsoft yesterday formally announced pricing of Windows NT 4.0. Workstation, available in about three weeks, will sell for about £250, with upgrades at £120. The Server edition will ship at the same time for £650, with upgrades at £325.

In other NT news, enterprise network specialist Eicon Technology said it had signed an agreement with Microsoft for its WAN interface cards to be supported in NT Server 4.0. Eicon can be contacted by telephone on 0181-967 8000.

When all is said, if Microsoft produce the best product people will buy it and thats a good thing. If people have to buy their product because no one else can produce an alternative, only because interoperability protocols are kept secret, then thats a bad thing.
