Fiat's online sales channel carried off the award for the Retail and Leisure Sector Technology Project of the Year at the 2008 CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards.

The car-maker's website uses 3D models, video and interactivity to give potential buyers the chance to experiment with vehicle configurations and financing options.

This site upgrade was singled out by the 2008 awards judges as exemplary in its attempts to harness the power of Web 2.0 applications, and demonstrated the result with an exponential increase in sales leads.
