Easynet on Friday finally resolved a series of national email outages, which lasted for 10 days.

Customers of the ISP's POP3 email services have suffered downtime and delays since 23 January. According to Easynet's status page, the issue was resolved at about 10am on Friday morning.

The problems were caused by a mail server configuration error, according a company spokeswoman. In a statement released to ZDNet UK, the spokeswoman added: "The configuration problem has been rectified. We will continue to improve the design of the mail platforms. No mails have been lost."

Despite the fact Easynet's status page says the problem was national and that the problems lasted for 10 days, the spokeswoman claimed that "less than 1 percent of our UK enterprise customer base were affected". She said that typical downtime for affected customers was around an hour.

Easynet's difficulties occurred not long after popular hosting firm 1&1 Internet's recent technical problems, which resulted in customers losing their email connectivity for the best part of a week.
